Car rental Aruba

With beautiful waves, soft, sea breezes and sunshine all year round, the small, Caribbean island of Aruba is a popular place for Canadian travelers to head to at any time of year. There are direct flights from Toronto, or connecting routes that stop in Newark or Miami. The island is rich in natural beauty and if you only have a limited time there, car rental in Aruba is the best way to make the most of it. Compare car rental before you go as the prices can be inflated if you buy when you arrive.

The speed limit is 60kph and the twisty, mountain passes and the tropical rainforests offer stunning places to stop and have picnics. However, there are many beaches, the caves, coves and ragged rock formations are just as impressive.

Aruba’s best attractions

Surfing and other water-sports are favoured by locals and tourists, thanks to the high, off-shore winds and warm waters. There are many influences from Holland, such as the De Oude Molen Windmill, which offers a unique thing to see.

Aruba has many lovely natural settings but the hotel chains maximize those by offering ATV tours, rock-climbing events, sailing, snorkeling and sea trekking. Hiking in the rainforests is incredible, but remember to take a tour guide. Stunning seafood restaurants and impeccably mannered locals give the whole island a real up-market feel.

Visit Aruba

With a semi-tropical climate, the island’s temperature hovers around a fairly consistent 27 degrees Celsius and therefore is perfect at any time of the year. It sidesteps the hurricane route, which makes it even more of a popular Caribbean island. One area to take note of is the ferocity of the waves during the summer/early fall, which, if you’re not a strong swimmer then it’s recommended to stay close to the shore or avoid the sea completely.
