Car rental Estonia
With Russia, Latvia, Sweden and Finland being nearby, Estonia is keenly situated for a trans-European jaunt. Canadians are starting to flock to Estonia, as are other nations, as it is fast becoming one of the top destinations in the EU thanks to the friendly people, lovely food, stunning beaches, fantastic medieval buildings and party-perfect nightlife.
Car rental in Estonia is a great way for Canadians making the long journey there to explore the country more fully. As Estonia uses the Euro now, it’s a worthwhile effort if you compare car rental before you arrive to find the best prices on a rental car.
Visitors’ favorites
Haapsalu is the most popular place among Canadians and other tourists due to the beaches, while Tallinn is known for its stunning city centre and well-preserved ancient buildings. Noarootsi is the popular city in the west and there are so many places and things to see and do that you’ll be glad you’ve hired a car.
Skiing in the southern mountains is popular and is where the beautiful national parks are situated. The cities are filled with excellent restaurants taking influences from all over the world: Italian, Balkan, Norwegian reindeer and of course, the best salmon and seafood dishes ever.
Best time to visit
The summer is a good time to arrive for the beaches, but for skiing and snowboarding, arrive in February for the best snow. The cities are both just as pretty in the winter and summer, although there are many cafés and bars where you can enjoy outside patios during the summer months. It’s still cool in the summer, but Estonia can see waves of heat coming from the south, which is good for topping up your tan.
Canadians needn’t have to pay any visa fees and due to Estonia being part of the Schengen Agreement passage to other EU countries is available, so you can make the most of your time in Europe.
