As Gabon sits directly on the equator you can expect to be greeted by hot and humid weather conditions. The rainy season is long and goes from September all the way to May with only a brief dry season in between. It’s possible to find and compare car rental prices in the capital of Libreville and driving around the country is the only truly reliable way to travel. However, the roads after dark are fairly dangerous if outside of Libreville. You must take extra care when driving, keep the vehicle locked and where possible try not to drive after dark because of the poor condition of rural routes.
