Elliot Lake is a settlement in the central region of Ontario, Canada. Situated just under 20kms from Lake Huron’s shores, Elliot Lake contains some 11,000 citizens. The city grew in population due to the construction of several uranium mines in the area. Today, some of the mines are causing health concerns in the settlement. Flying to the town is possible, and car rental in Elliot Lake Airport works well.
The airport is about eight kilometres from Elliot Lake, and just to the south of the Nordic Townsite. Kings Lake is about two kilometres to the east of Elliot Lake Airport, and car rental in Elliot Lake Airport is a great way to see the many lakes and attractions of the region.
With more than 4,000 aircraft flying into the airport every year, Elliot Lake Airport remains busy throughout the calendar year. However, there are no scheduled flights operating from the facility. Most scheduled flights to the area fly into Sault St. Marie Aiport or Sudbury Airport.
Most of the locals living in Elliot Lake don’t use the airport for scheduled passenger services. Instead, locals tend to travel the 80kms to Sault St Marie for a connecting flight to one of the major Canadian cities.
Lucky for pilots and patrons coming into the airport, the terminal is fully equipped with restrooms, a kitchen, meeting spaces, a library and more. If visitors are hungry, there is a barbecue area to the side of the terminal. This is in addition to the reliable car rental services available in Elliot Lake Airport.
